Nation Estate

In her short science fiction film, artist Larissa Sansour offers a dystopian vision into an absurd future. The solution to the Middle East conflict is vertical — a gigantic skyscraper offers shelter to all the Palestinian cities and their population.

Port of Memory

In PORT OF MEMORY, Aljafari offers a subtle portrait of the city of Jaffa. The film captures in a powerful language the rituals of the city, the mundane presence of its people and their struggles against the threats of eviction and the spectres of disappearance. In doing so, PORT OF MEMORY lingers nostalgically on the remnants of a lost past as a mode of resisting the dispossession of its Palestinian inhabitants and the processes of gentrification and neo-liberalization.
